It's the Oscars tonight!!! Once upon a time, I was a total movie buff. You know, when I was young, pre-parenting, and had so much free time, but I thought I was busy...way back then. During my undergrad and grad school years, movies were my stress relief and I would walk about 2 miles from my apartment to the theater to see a movie all by my lonesome when I had a few free hours. By the time the Oscars rolled around each year, I had seen at least the majority, if not all, of the nominated movies and felt like a celebrity and movie trivia expert. These days, not so much, but I still love the excitement of going to the movies and sharing that with my kids. The previews, the popcorn, and the ambiance are all something memorable and relaxing. In honor of the Oscars tonight, I'm sharing this quick popcorn recipe. This recipe is ridiculously simple. So simple that I questioned if I should even post it, but here it is! This is my favorite, at home, movie popcorn that is sweet and salty. It reminds me of kettle corn and it's very addicting. I use an air popper but you could modify this for popcorn made on the stove too. Sweet and Salty Popcorn Ingredients -1/2 cup popcorn kernels -2-3 TBS butter (I'm using my favorite Kerrygold) -2-3 TBS honey - Sea Salt to taste Directions Pop your kernels according to your machine's directions. Melt the butter and honey on medium heat in a pan or pot on the stove top. Pour over top the freshly popped popcorn, salt to taste and enjoy! Done! Enjoy the red carpet and the awards show!
